NOZZLES FOR LUBRICATION

CHOOSING THE RIGHT NOZZLE TYPE

When it comes to spraying viscous liquids like oil, choosing the right type of nozzle is crucial. Air atomizing nozzles, which rely on the action of air to atomize the liquid, may encounter clogging problems due to the viscosity of the oil. In such cases, external mix nozzles, which mix the air with the liquid after it exits the nozzle, can help overcome these issues.

CONTROLLED SPRAYING FOR PRECISE APPLICATIONS

Controlling the amount and location of the sprayed oil is crucial for efficient and effective lubrication. Excess oil that falls outside of the target area is not only wasteful but can also lead to safety hazards. Achieving a uniform and consistent spray is desirable for optimal results, which can be achieved through the use of fine sprays. These sprays are more homogeneous and produce more uniform coatings of grease.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR SPRAYING THICK OILS

The viscosity of many oils can pose challenges to effective spraying. In addition to clogging issues, thick oils may require higher pressure and flow rates to achieve fine atomization. It is important to choose a nozzle that can handle the thickness of the oil being sprayed to ensure optimal performance.
